The Bodyboss Home Gym 2.0 is the ultimate portable workout that is tailor-made to suit your fitness needs.
The resistance training system can be ordered online and delivered to your door in a fairly compact package. It is a standout in a market dominated by larger, bulky machines with its convenience and setup that prioritizes exercise anywhere, at any time. It is the ultimate compact home gym.
We review this product by exploring its features, attachments, benefits, and downsides, to help you decide whether the Bodyboss Home Gym 2.0 is the best option for you.
Bodyboss Home Gym 2.0 (Our Review)
The Bodyboss Home Gym 2.0 is unlike many other at-home exercises available on the market today. With equipment-free movement and guided online videos on one end of the at-home spectrum, and home gym setups with multiple machines at the other end, this falls somewhere in the middle.
You can customize your order, but the Full Gym package is the most popular option with its versatile offering. The quality of the product is excellent, and if taken care of, can match the durability level of a full exercise machine like the Keys Fitness home gym.
It comes with a 3-week workout program to follow, instructions and visuals, an accessory bag, a base, a workout bar, candles, straps, resistance bands, and a door anchor. All in all, everything you would need for a good, sweaty resistance workout session.
This is an ideal setup for convenient workouts that can be done anywhere. It does not take up a lot of home space and can be packed up and stored away in a cupboard, shelf, or underneath a bed, making it ideal for those who do not have the capacity for a full home gym. It is also perfect for regular travelers who don’t want to fall off a workout routine when away from home.
- Includes versatile attachments
- Comes with a bag
- Might not be intense enough for advanced strength fitness
The package comes with two resistance bands, each at 30lb of resistance when it is at its normal length. If you use the various anchor points provided, you can increase this to about 75-80lb on each resistance band.
This provides some versatility to your workout and range, and the resistance of the workout is easily tweaked by simply lengthening or shortening the bands to increase or decrease the weight resistance to suit your needs.
The bands are about 30 inches long at their normal length and are covered in cloth which is a nice comfort point to avoid painful friction. They each feature clips on either end, which makes it easy to attach the bands to the various attachment parts in the packages, as well as the base, depending on what type of workout you are looking to complete.
While the resistance bands are excellent quality, and 30lb each at normal length is a decent resistance, it might be inconvenient for some that the package only includes two of them. But, you can add additional bands to your package, at an extra cost, if you desire.
The base can accommodate up to 5 bands on each side, so you can purchase up to an extra 8 bands for your workout.
The Bodyboss Fold Up VectorFit Base Platform is an attractive feature in its package.
The base has been designed to be durable in quality, using sturdy material to achieve a piece of equipment that can stand the test of time (and force). It can hold up to 500lb of pressure, which is impressive considering its compact design.
You can use the base to stand on, and/or attach the resistance bands too, depending on the particular exercise you are doing. This enables you to do a wide range of exercises, in many different positions, and with your chosen resistance level.
To adjust those resistance levels, you simply use the hooks on the base to shorten the bands – the shorter they are, the higher the resistance will be.
We know that compactness is key with the BodyBoss, and even the base is designed for this. It can be folded in half and is designed to be carried like a bag, or briefcase. It also features a non-slip bottom to prevent slippage and injury during exercise, as well as padding for your comfort while working out.
The package comes with several included attachments that all offer variety in your workout routine.
In addition to the resistance bands and platform base, there is also a workout bar. The bar is collapsible and can be used in conjunction with the other components for workouts such as squats, lunges, and many more.
The package includes a door anchor that can be used if you want to perform exercises akin to those on a cable system machine, but instead, simply done on a door. This is a convenient yet effective way to tone muscles and can be anchored in several positions to work for different muscle groups at varying intensities.
It comes with two handles to be used with the bands in the style of dumbbells, as well as two limb straps. The packages also include a range of workouts that can be followed, which is especially helpful if you are a beginner.
Extra attachments or accessories can be added to your order from BodyBoss, either when making your initial order, or after you have tried out the BodyBoss 2.0 if you decide you would like further options.
The Bodyboss 2.0 allows you to perform a great number of exercises, including bicep curls, chest flys, tricep extensions, squats, lunges, crunches, push-ups, and many, many more – all within one compact and portable home gym package. It is akin to a Multisports home gym, but with possibly even more options.
Resistance training works to aid weight loss and muscle strengthening. It can also improve cardiovascular health, and lead to the betterment of mental health.
The ability to perform different exercises and alternate routines with the versatility of the product means you are less likely to get bored and instead stick with your workout regime in the long run. The variation also helps to push your fitness levels further by challenging your body and muscles.
The portable nature of the home gym is ideal for those who are busy, and/or often travel. It allows you to complete your workout at just about any time, in any place. It is similar to a Perfect Trainer home gym in its portability but is actually even more compact.
The Bodyboss Home Gym 2.0 is the ideal option for those looking to lose weight and tone muscle, without the bulk of full-size exercise equipment. You can work all muscle groups with hundreds of different exercise options, using just a few pieces of compact equipment.
If you are looking to build serious muscle, this may not be the best option as a standalone exercise due to the lack of real weight. The resistance does help with muscle toning and strengthening, but not on a very high scale.
If you are a bodybuilder, this may be a good supplementary option for when you travel, to use in addition to weight machines like the Bioforce home gym.
It has the features of a good quality home cable machine gym, such as the Yukon home gym, just in a different form.
If you work long hours in an office, travel frequently, or just don’t have the space for bulky equipment, this nifty home gym is the perfect product for you.
