What We Love About the XTERRA Fitness FS 3.0 Elliptical:

Computer ProgramsXTERRA Fitness FS 3.0 Elliptical Trainer

The XTERRA Fitness FS 3.0 Elliptical Trainer has 14 programmed workouts to choose from. In this price range, it will be very, very hard to find this many workouts on a competitor’s elliptical. You can choose from any of the 12 training programs, or you can pick a heart and watt workout. If you don’t want any of those, you can also set up your own workout manually. With this elliptical you’ll never be bored while exercising.

Resistance

Another great feature on the XTERRA Fitness FS 3.0 Elliptical Trainer is its 20 digital levels of resistance. Again, 20 levels are far more than you will be able to find on just about any competitor model in this price range. That they are digital is equally impressive, as it allows you to change your resistance without any interruptions. A lot of other elliptical at this price point use tension knobs to adjust resistance which is sometime difficult to maintain a consistent and intense workout.

What Isn’t So Great:XTERRA Fitness FS 3.0 Elliptical Trainer

The biggest drawback on the FS 3.0 Elliptical is that it only has a 16” stride. While this is one of the larger strides in this price range, it is still short. It will definitely be difficult for taller users to have a full stride on this elliptical, especially people at or near 6’ tall. Again, as we’ve said, if this is a big concern for you, it will still be pretty difficult to find an elliptical with a larger stride in this price range. You’ll probably need to come up with at least another $100 to get into the 18” range. You may want to test this and other elliptical machines out if this is a concern.

Final Word on the XTERRA Fitness FS 3.0 Elliptical Trainer:

For the price the XTERRA Fitness FS 3.0 Elliptical Trainer has some nice options. It has some nice features for an elliptical around $400. The features we love most are its workout programs and electronic resistance. Are concerns with the stride length are definitely real, but it may be impossible to find a better option in this price range.
