Bowflex Home Gym Overview:
The Bowflex Hybrid Velocity Training (HVT) is an innovative, efficient and cost-effective hybrid home gym trainer that combines the benefits of cardiorespiratory and strength training in one sleek machine. You could think of it as a futuristic evolution of the original cable machine. The HVT comes equipped with HVT Gym, allowing you to get started right away with three robust training programs. Choose from Sprint, Circuit, or Builder programs to receive coaching instruction throughout your workout. With the Bowflex HVT, you’ll be able to burn fat and gain lean muscle effectively, making progress in as little as 18 minutes with their proven formula. In addition, via full Bluetooth compatibility, you’ll also be able to send Bowflex HVT training videos to the console as well.
The HVT is a sturdy but tall and sleek piece of equipment. It’s space-conscious, and ideal for maximizing your at-home gym. Aside from the technology, the HVT also comes with 16 levels of resistance to control the intensity of your workout. Bowflex resistance training with the HVT+ is also relatively low-impact on the joints, as opposed to traditional free weight training, which may be important to older, heavier, or previously injured trainees. It’s worth noting that standing at around 6 feet, the HVT may feel too tall for shorter trainers, depending on the height. Aside from the height, however, the Bowflex HVT is an appealing machine that represents state-of-the-art home gym fitness equipment.

What We Love About the Bowflex HVT:
Strength And Cardio In One
You no longer have to choose between cardiovascular or strength training; With the Bowflex HVT, you’ll get the benefits of both training modalities in one sleek machine. This piece of equipment provides a nearly full-gym set-up in the comfort of your home and is known for its short and efficient 18-minute workouts designed to get you results. This kind of model is revolutionary for providing a truly hybrid trainer, allowing you to cross-train safely and effectively, without some of the risk that comes with free weights. You could think of this trainer as a smarter cable machine, with the added benefit of being able to work on cardio and endurance.
The Bowflex HVT comes with a dynamic coaching console equipped with three pre-programed workout modes—Sprint, including power, speed, and recovery, Circuit, including strength, form, and range of motion, and lastly, Builder, including strength and endurance. These workout programs provide efficient coaching platforms to help you get the most out of the machine while building lean muscle and burning fat. The HVT programming also ensures that you can get started right away working out without knowing much about the machine. Whether you’re a beginner or advanced trainee, you’ll benefit from these programs.
6” Equipment Height
The Bowflex HVT is designed to be tall and sleek for space-saving measures. However, standing at six feet tall, this machine may be uncomfortable or difficult to reach for the shorter trainees. Unfortunately, they do not make the HVT in any other sizes, so if you’re on the shorter side, make sure that this is a part of your consideration when comparing models.
How the Bowflex HVT Compares to the Bowflex HVT+
The HVT series has two pieces of equipment—the HVT+ and the original HVT. The only difference between the two is the addition of the Samsung® Galaxy 8” tablet that comes included in the price of the HVT+. There are no other differences between the two machines. For that reason, if you’re looking for more instruction and have the budget for it, the HVT+ will provide more direction to the novice trainee. However, if you’re looking for the machine without the extra bells and whistles, the HVT will provide the same state-of-the-art equipment at a more affordable price.
Final Word on the Bowflex HVT:
The Bowflex HVT is the original trainer within the HVT home gym series, for which there is also the more expensive model, the HVT+. Both have been shown to provide great results using the tested formulas for 18-mInute workouts. The only difference between the two models is the inclusion of the Samsung® Galaxy tablet that comes along with the HVT+. For trainees who have the budget and are looking for the perfect blend between strength and conditioning in one, the HVT is an ideal, advanced machine from Bowflex.
