Let’s Get Started:
The Bowflex Revolution Home Gym is an amazing home workout machine that utilizes the SpiraFlex® plate technology resistance system. SpiraFlex was developed for NASA for astronauts living in the International Space Station to help keep them in shape without relying on gravity and, lucky for you, is now being used on the Bowflex Revolution home gym. The main advantage of this all-in-one gym machine is that it provides resistance through the entire range of motion. This technology is a non-inertial resistance mechanism that provides the smoothness and feel of gym-quality plate-loaded machines, but eliminates the excessive bulk and weight.
The SpiraFlex’s totally unique, state of the art resistance system involves wrapping an elastic strap tighter and tighter around a coil, which is contained in a small canister. It looks similar to free weight plates, but weighs only a few pounds. Overall, SpiraFlex® helps the Bowflex Revolution remain quiet, lightweight, portable, safe and is an amazingly high-tech system.
The Revolution Home Gym has two independently moving arms with ten position settings and 170 degree adjustment to allow you to find the perfect feel. This home gym comes with 220 lbs of weight that transform into 440 lbs of resistance. You also have the ability to upgrade to 300 lbs of weights and 600 lbs of resistance. With all of these adjustments and settings, the Bowflex Revolution allows you to perform more than 100 different exercises for the entire body.

Shipping and Assembly:
Shipping costs will vary for the Bowflex Revolution Home Gym depending on where you purchase from and what type of delivery you prefer. Amazon usually offers free Prime shipping on the Revolution – click here to check.
As complicated as you may think the internals of the Bowflex Revolution may be, you won’t need to worry about it. Most of the internals are already assembled and you’re just putting together the main components of the home gym. Bowflex provides a variety of Allen wrenches. But you’ll also need your own screwdrivers and a couple adjustable wrenches to complete the process. The assembly instructions could be a little clearer and provide more description, so you’ll need a little patience. The process should take you between 6-8 hours.
What We Love About the Bowflex Revolution Home Gym:
The Bowflex Revolution is a well built, solid home gym with an innovative resistance system. Those two things can’t be overlooked. The SpiraFlex® resistance system allows you to feel resistance during every part of the exercise. You feel resistance during the pressing movement and in its return. You also feel resistance in the pulling action and in its release. You’re working your muscles during the entire exercise.
The machine is also designed in a way that gets you more exercises than you find on most home gyms. Bowflex claims this machine provides over 100 different exercise options with unlimited variations to those movements. In theory, you’ll never get bored of the Bowflex Revolution with this many options. Hitting a plateau? Just try one of the other zillion configurations!
The Bowflex Revolution Home Gym is an investment. That said, the machine is built solidly and it can provide a ton of exercise options. For comparisons, take a look at our reviews of the BodyCraft Xpress Pro Home Gym and the Body-Solid Free Weight Leverage Commercial Gym.
Bowflex provides a 10 year warranty for the machine while a lot of other home gyms at this price range provide a lifetime warranty. There’s some concerned how long these resistance band weights can actually last before they break or they start to lose resistance. Chances are they’ll make the 10 year mark. And after a decade, you probably won’t have a problem doing a little maintenance or upgrading.
Final Word on the Bowflex Revolution Home Gym:
Bowflex is a very respected name in the home gym industry. The Revolution Home Gym is their most advanced model. This home gym provides a revolutionary resistance system that provides continual resistance throughout the entire movement. This gym also provides you a complete upper and lower body workout with over 100 different exercises. The Bowflex Revolution does come with a higher price tag. That said, it’s really a top-of-class machine so it’s definitely worth it. Recommended. Rating: 98/100.
