powerline-p2x-home-gym-with-leg-press-machineOverview:

The Powerline P2X Home Gym with Leg Press is made by Body-Solid so you know you are getting a quality piece of exercise equipment that can last a lifetime. This home gym utilizes a 160 lb weight stack and a fixed pulley system to allow the users to perform a variety of exercises. There are three distinctly different workout stations that are each designed to target their own muscle groups for optimal workouts. It has two-way adjustable back pad and adjustable seat pad to ensure a proper starting position for all users.

The key design feature of this home gym is its leg press attachment. This press can be attached on either side of the machine so you can fit it in your workspace easily. The leg press doubles the weight stacks resistance up to 320 lbs with a 2:1 ration pulley system. While everyone likes to claim their gym can provide a full body workout, this gym actually does it.

Powerline backs their product with an excellent 10 year frame warranty and 1 year parts warranty, but with its strong design, this machine is going to last a lifetime.

What We Love About the Powerline P2X Home Gym with Leg Press:

Full Body Workouts

The best thing about the Powerline P2X Home Gym with Leg Press is that you can get a true full body workout with the machine. A lot of home gyms like the Body-Solid Strength Tech EXM2500S and EXM1500S Home Gyms claim to provide full body workouts, but they only offer a few lower body exercises. The Powerline P2X Home Gym with Leg Press provides all of those exercises, plus it has the ability to work the quads and hamstrings. Another nice feature with the leg press is that it is designed to double the resistance of the 160 lb weight stack. With the 50 lb upgrade option, you can get 420 lbs of resistance on the leg press.

Multiple Workout Stations

Another great feature on this home gym is that Powerline has designed it with three completely different workout stations. Having different workout stations increases the footprint of the machine so you’ll need the space to set up it, but it’s well worth it. These distinctly different stations are designed to target specific muscles and muscle groups for a superior workout. A lot of home gyms will provide different pulley arrangements but rely on the user to know how to set up their own body position for a good workout. The Px2 Home Gym with Leg Press takes that guess work out of the equation.

Other Considerations:

Weight Stack

The biggest let down with the Powerline Px2 Home Gym with Leg Press is the 160 lb weight stack.  Powerline does offer a 50 lb upgrade for another $110, but 210 lbs may not even be enough once you start getting into shape.  This much weight might be A-OK for you but if this is a concern of yours, you’ll probably want to take a look at a few of our other reviews. We’d recommend taking a look at the Bowflex home gyms or the Body-Solid Freeweight Leverage Commercial Gym Package for starters.

Final Word on the Powerline P2X Home Gym with Leg Press:

For the price, the Powerline P2X Home Gym with Leg Press is a really great buy. What makes it so great is that it truly gives you a full body workout. While there are other home gyms in this price range and maybe a little cheaper that can do that, this may be the cheapest one that utilizes weight stacks. The majority of home gyms that can provide a lower body workout like this machine are mostly resistance rod gyms.  Recommended.
