Last Updated on February 11, 2021 by Jeff

Life Fitness Lifecycle GX Group Exercise BikeOverview:

The Lifecycle GX is a bio-mechanically designed indoor cycle that’s user-tested to ensure a comfortable, yet effective workout. Quality construction provides long-lasting durability, and micro-adjustments make it possible to fit your custom riding style.  This is marketed as a group exercise bike but can just as easily find a place in your home.

The Lifecycle GX’s ergonomic cycling seat with cut-out provides extra comfort and air flow. The handlebar design provides comfortable upper body positioning and the dual water bottle holders are conveniently located under the bars. Both the seat and handlebars provide adjustments to tailor fit each user. As you can tell by now, the intense ergonomic design is what sets the Lifecycle GX apart among Spin bikes and other indoor cycles.

Lifecycle GX Shipping and Assembly:

Shipping costs will vary for the Lifecycle GX depending on where you purchase from and what type of delivery you prefer. However, some retailers, such as Amazon.com, will provide free shipping.

The Lifecycle GX comes with some parts already assembled like the flywheel. Yu only need to do some final assembly, which should take you less than an hour. Unfortunately, the Lifecycle GX does not come with the necessary tools to do this, but you don’t need to go out and purchase any unusual tools. Standard tools will get the job done.

What We Love About the Lifecycle GX:

Quality & Adjustability

The Lifecycle GX is manufactured by Life Fitness, which is a prominent name in fitness equipment. It’s a name brand that guarantees the purchase of a quality product and the Lifecycle GX is no exception. This cycle has a strong rust-resistant steel frame and utilizes the popular eddy current brake resistance system with 20 different levels. The resistance is displayed on the console so you don’t need to guess at the resistance level and can adjust it easily from workout to workout. The seat is fully adjustable vertically and horizontally and the handlebars are also adjustable to ensure a proper riding position for every user. The Lifecycle GX is a great bike that is sure to fit anyone and last for a very long time.

Computer Readouts

The Lifecycle GX provides the user with tons of workout data. On two displays you get 16 different statistics that measure your workout performance. You ge the normal RPM, MPH, time, distance and calorie readings, but you also get a variety of heart rate measurements. Six of the 16 readouts measure your heart rate while working out, which is a great option. It must be understood that in order to get these statistics you will need to use a chest strap monitor, which is not included with your purchase of the Lifecycle GX.Lifecycle GX

Other Considerations:

While the computer provides a lot of great workout statistics, it does not provide any preprogrammed workouts. It’s probably because this bike is geared toward group fitness with an instructor leading you.

The Lifecycle GX is definitely not an impulse buy. You need to do your homework and consider what you really want out of an indoor cycle. If you’re only concerned about quality, durability and a reputable name, then the Lifecycle GX is worth it.  As we said early, the Lifecycle GX has no workout programs and while it does display workout data, there is no way to track this data to measure your progress.

Final Word on the Life Fitness Lifecycle GX Group Exercise Bike:

Life Fitness provides another quality piece of exercise equipment with the Lifecycle GX. This bike is sure to please everyone and stand up to any workout that is dished out. Its adjustability will ensure any user has a comfortable ride and its components will ensure that it will stand up to the most intense workout. The amount of readouts on the console is sure to please everyone, but it does lack some features that you would expect to find in this price range.  If you’re looking for a solidly built, quality indoor cycle, then the Lifecycle GX is a strong buy.
