The J/Fit Deluxe Doorway Pull-Up Bar is a sturdy and durable pull up bar. It has a maximum weight limit of 250 lbs, and some reviewers who were approaching that weight said this doorway pull up bar will hold, even without the mounting brackets. That said, it’s usually good to utilize the brackets with screws for optimal safety.
The best feature of the Deluxe Doorway Pull-Up Bar is its versatility to fit nearly every doorway. This bar is fully adjustable for doorways or hallways from 26”-40”. The bar also has adjustable grips so that they can be moved for comfortable exercises at various hand positions.

Assembly and Installation:

What We Love About the J/Fit Deluxe Doorway Pull-Up Bar
The best thing about the J/Fit Deluxe Doorway Pull-Up Bar is the wide range of doorways that it can fit. This bar can extend up to 40” so it will fit just about any door opening. You could even install this bar in hallways since it can adjust so widely. If fact, many reviewers did just that.
In general, this type of telescoping pull up bar is just a great, simple piece of equipment to have around the house. You can do a couple pull ups or chin ups every time you pass through a doorway and by the end of the day, you’ve knocked out a couple dozen reps without even thinking about it. Hard to say that about any other type of fitness equipment.
What Isn’t So Great
Some users report this bar slips out even when using the mounting brackets. This is kind of strange and a concern because you could get seriously hurt if it slips out mid-exercise. This issue seems to be hit and miss, however. Other reviewers claimed that they were able to install this bar without the brackets and it held excellently even for people up around 200 lbs. To be sure, we always recommend making sure doorway pull up bars are installed very securely with the mounting brackets. The brackets can sit there waiting while the bar itself can be stored elsewhere.
Final Word on the J/Fit Deluxe Doorway Pull-Up Bar
J/Fit sells the Deluxe Doorway Pull-Up Bar on their website for around $30, but you can find this bar even cheaper across the internet. With this bar you are getting a sturdy chin-up/pull-up bar that fit in virtually any doorway. Make sure you use the mounting brackets to avoid injury.
