While the Diamondback 510SR Recumbent Bike’s big brother, the Diamondback 910SR, is a hugely popular bike, the 510SR Recumbent shouldn’t be overlooked. The 510SR Recumbent Exercise Bike comes in a bit cheaper and it’s not leaving out too much. The design and quality of the two recumbent bikes are almost identical.
The Diamondback 510SR is a solid, high-tech, well-designed machine. It’s equipped with ergonomic pedals and an adjustable seat for comfort. And it packs in 20 pre-programmed workouts, 16 Eddy Current Brake (ECB) resistance levels, and heart rate monitoring. Throw in niceties like an amazing backlit LCD display showing tons of workout data, a cooling fan, a magazine rack, transport wheels, an MP3 input, a water bottle holder, and the conclusion is that the 510SR Recumbent Exercise Bike is a great machine at a nice price.

Meet Your Manufacturer:
In 1991, Diamondback Fitness branched off of the famous Diamondback bike company. Diamondback Fitness was created as a means to help users maintain conditioning indoors and for people looking for new and different cross-training options. For over 20 years, Diamondback Fitness has grown its brand by offering a full line of upright exercise bikes, recumbent cycles and elliptical trainers with high quality products and a focus on the user.
What We Love About the Diamondback Fitness 510SR Recumbent Bike:
Diamondback Fitness packs the 510SR Recumbent Exercise Bike with a ton of great features. You get the normal stuff like a fan, transport wheel, water bottle holder, but then they step it up with adding mobile device connectivity and a magazine holder to keep you connected to the outside world. Then they keep you challenged with 16 ECB resistance levels and heart rate monitoring.
The Diamondback Fitness 510SR Recumbent Exercise Bike comes with 20 workout programs. This is amazing. Honestly, there are recumbent bikes that cost more than twice the price of this machine that don’t offer this many programmed workouts (check out the SOLE Fitness LCR Bike Light Commercial). These programs are designed to simulate hill climbing, to burn fat, to build strength or to work out in a targeted heart rate zone. However, our favorite programs are the interval workouts. These workouts are the most intense workouts for getting the heart rate up and burning calories.
Diamondback Fitness has put together a solid machine in the 510SR Recumbent Exercise Bike. It has a steel frame, weighs 125 lbs and has a 300 lb weight capacity. Along with the perimeter-weighted flywheel, these features plant this recumbent bike to the ground. It isn’t going anywhere and it’s going to stand up to whatever you can dish out. When you buy the Diamondback Fitness 510SR Recumbent Exercise Bike, you are going to have a great piece of exercise equipment for a very long time.
The Diamondback Fitness 510SR Recumbent Bike provides heart rate monitoring through its stationary handles. It is nice that this feature is available but it would be even better if you had the option to connect a heart rate chest monitor. Heart rate workouts, which the 510SR Recumbent Exercise Bike has 4 programmed routines, are great for intense, calorie-burning exercises. However, on this machine you’ll need to make sure that you are holding the handles at least every 30 seconds or the programs will not operate. Using a chest strap would alleviate this issue. Chest heart rate monitoring is also known to be more accurate than station grip monitoring.
Final Word on the Diamondback Fitness 510SR Recumbent Bike:
The Diamondback Fitness 510SR Recumbent Bike is a very nice choice in its price range. It comes with a lot of resistance options, a lot of programmed workouts and it very solidly built. It’ll last forever. If you want a few more options and you’re willing to spend a bit more, the 910SR Recumbent Bike might be worth a look. With the Diamondback 910SR version you get some more resistance levels and more programmed workouts. That said, all of those additional features are really icing on the cake. The 510Sr has everything you need to get you sweating, toning, and losing the pounds and for a nicer price.
