Exerpeutic 4000 Magnetic Recumbent Bike What We Love About the Exerpeutic 4000 Magnetic Recumbent Bike:

The Exerpeutic 4000 Magnetic Recumbent Bike is made to accommodate users of medium to generally bigger proportions.  This means it will be ideal if you have some extra pounds and are looking to get fit in an ergonomically safe way.  On top of that, Exerpeutic provides some nice options on this recumbent bike. We discussed most of the good stuff above but here are a few more specifics:

Console

The features on the Exerpeutic 4000 Magnetic Recumbent Bike’s console are really nice. It comes with seven different types of training styles including 12 pre-programmed workouts. Pre-programmed workouts are one of the features that we love best because they make working out enjoyable. It’s nice to be able to jump of the bike, push a single button and get an intense workout. Plus, with all of the different options, you get a variety to your exercise routine. At this price, you are getting a lot of workouts. Additionally, Exerpeutic is also providing the ability to download your exercise data so that you can track your performance from workout to workout. This is a feature that many mid-$1,000 recumbent bikes don’t provide (check out the SOLE Fitness and Diamondback Fitness high-end models).

Resistance

The Exerpeutic 4000 Magnetic Recumbent Bike comes with 24 resistance levels. The magnetic resistance provides smooth and quiet transition between resistance levels. These are electronically set through the console, which is another great feature. When you’re looking for a good recumbent bike that is going to provide an intense workout, you want to look for one with at least 20 levels. You’ll definitely be able to find a good intensity to ensure a good workout on the 4000 Magnetic Recumbent Bike.

What Isn’t So Great:Exerpeutic 4000 Magnetic Recumbent Bike

Comfort & Accommodation

Some users feel the Exerpeutic 4000 Magnetic Recumbent Bike’s comfort level is lacking. While the bike comes with an “Air Soft” seat, many report the seat is firm and uncomfortable. This is a concern, especially when you’re trying to extend your workouts. You don’t want to fear getting on your recumbent machine to exercise. Also, a few users report that the 4000 Magnetic Recumbent Bike also doesn’t fit smaller users well. Generally, people around 5’ tall has difficulty adjusting the seat to fit them. If you are around this tall, you will definitely want to test drive this bike before making the purchase.

Final Word on the Exerpeutic 4000 Magnetic Recumbent Bike:

At around $400 the Exerpeutic 4000 Magnetic Recumbent Bike is a very nice choice. It provides 12 programmed workouts and four heart rate workouts which help keep you coming back for the varied and challenging sessions. You’ll be lucky to find any bikes in this price range that connect to apps and allow you to download exercise information. The main downfall can be comfort and the ability to fit smaller users.  And it’s probably a good idea to try the Exerpeutic 4000 out before you buy it to see if it’s good for you. Finally, we suggest taking a look at the Schwinn 270 Recumbent Bike to compare.
