The ProForm 315 CSX Recumbent Exercise Bike’s computer has many options that you don’t typically find in this price range or on top end price bikes for that matter. The Graphixx display is large and allows for the connection of an iPod® or MP3 player so that you can have some musical motivation while exercising. One of the nicest features is the 20 programmed workouts designed by certified professional trainers that will automatically adjust resistance while you exercise. Finally, the 315 CSX Recumbent Bike comes iFit® compatible. If you don’t already have a subscription this will run you another ten bucks per month, but this will greatly expand your enjoyment of this elliptical machine.
Resistance
The ProForm 315 CSX Recumbent Exercise Bike comes with 16 resistance levels. The silent magnetic resistance provides smooth, frictionless transition between levels. These are electronically set through the console, which is another great feature. When you’re looking for a good recumbent bike that is going to provide an intense workout, you want to look for one with at least 20 levels. With that being said, the 315 CSX Recumbent Bike’s 16 levels will definitely provide an intense workout.
What Isn’t So Great:
The ProForm 315 CSX Recumbent Bike is a great bike and it’s very difficult to find a flaw in it. It’s barely worth mentioning, but if we have to pick something, it might be the heart rate monitoring capability. The ProForm 315 CSX only has the option to monitor your heart rate through its stationary hand grips. Hand grips are known for not being as accurate as a chest strap monitor. Plus, you must make sure that you hold the hand grips for at least 15 seconds in order to get a good reading, whereas a chest strap monitor continually measures your pulse throughout your workout.
Final Word on the ProForm 315 CSX Recumbent Bike:
The ProForm 315 CSX Recumbent Bike is definitely hard to beat. It is a solid bike that provides a quiet workout and has a decent amount of resistance levels. The best feature of this bike, however, is its console. At this price range, it’s nearly impossible to find 20 pre-programmed workouts and the ability to connect to apps. Even better, the iFit® app that comes with this console is probably the best as far as options on the market. This app opens an entire library of possible workouts, including workouts by fitness experts like Jillian Michaels. Again, the ProForm 315 CSX Recumbent Bike is built for comfort and designed to keep you coming back for more, a helpful boost on the road to optimal fitness.
