What We Love About the Phoenix 98900 Power Rower:
The Phoenix 98900 Power Rower Has some design features that we really like. First it has a 46” slide length that will accommodate a large number of users. This will allow you to get a full rowing extension and really work the lower body. We also like that Phoenix is providing multiple resistance settings so that you can adjust your intensity while exercising. The dial is easy to use and allows you to make uninterrupted adjustments while exercising. There are five different resistance settings available. The last design feature that we like is that this is a foldable rowing machine. With a footprint of well over six feet, it’s nice that the 98900 Power Rower will fold to a much smaller size so that you can save space while it’s not being used.
What Isn’t So Great:
The most troublesome thing about the Phoenix 98900 Power Rower is the large number of complaints concerning its construction. There are a lot of reviews that comment on the noises that come from the flywheel. Most say that it squeaks loudly like it is misaligned but there’s nothing that can be done to fix it. There are also a large number of users that said the quality itself is questionable. After a very short time of use the machine broke and in some cases it was delivered broken. Fortunately, this machine does have a one year frame warranty and 90 days part warranty, so if it were to fail quickly, it will be covered. That doesn’t make it right however, when you’re spending a few hundred dollars for a piece of exercise equipment.
Final Word on the Phoenix 98900 Power Rower:
There are a lot of rowing machine options in this price range. Most are very similar as far as features. While we like the design of the Phoenix 98900 Power Rower, there really isn’t anything extraordinary that sets it apart. Most rowers at this price point have multiple resistance levels and a space saving design. What we can’t get past with this rowing machine are the apparent quality issues. There are too many similar complaints about the machine breaking to overlook.
