Assembly of the Stamina 1402 ATS Air Rower is extremely easy. There are a total of ten bolts that you’ll need to install to complete the process. There are illustrated instructions and two wrenches provided for you to do this. One person can complete the process in about 30 minutes.

Resistance
The Stamina 1402 ATS Air Rower uses air to provide resistance while rowing. Air is one of the most effective resistance systems and provides a feel that is very realistic to outdoor rowing. Only rowers that use water resistance may provide a more realistic feel, but that’s a matter of opinion. Both of these resistance systems work very similarly. The harder you row, the harder the resistance, and vice versa. With this you can create an unlimited amount of resistance levels and obviously one that is tailored just for you. Some people feel that air rowers can be loud with the sound of the fan, but others find the sound actually puts them in an exercising zone.
Warranty
Stamina provides a very nice warranty on the 1402 ATS Air Rower. They cover the frame for three years and they cover other defects in materials and workmanship under normal use, service assembly and operation for 90 days. For most competitors in this price range, you’ll be lucky to find a warranty greater than a year, if that. For us, it makes us feel like Stamina knows they have built a quality product and they’re willing to stand behind it.
What Isn’t So Great:
Console
Our biggest complaint about the Stamina 1402 ATS Air Rower is the computer console, but honestly most rowing machines in this price range have the same issues. Stamina equips this rower with a basic console that will measure speed, time, distance, strokes and calories burned while you’re exercising. There are no workout programs and there’s no ability to download data or measure your performance from workout to workout. Again this is common for most rowing machines in this price range with the exception of the XTERRA ERG400 Rower. You can read our review of this rower if that interests you.
Final Word on the Stamina 1402 ATS Air Rower:
The Stamina 1402 ATS Air Rower is a really good rowing machine and worth it’s price tag. Stamina is a well known fitness equipment manufacturer and has made another quality product in this rower. They back their construction with an excellent warranty. We love the air resistance on the 1402 ATS Air Rower, but the computer console leaves a little to be desired. Overall, we wouldn’t pass this rowing machine up. It has everything you’ll need for a great workout.
