What Isn’t So Great on the Gold’s Gym Treadmill:
Not a deal breaker, but the Gold’s Gym Trainer 720 Treadmill only has the ability to monitor your heart rate through the pulse grips. Since there is no ability to utilize a chest strap monitor, the accuracy of your pulse readings isn’t going to be the best. Additionally, this is going to require you to hold the grips while running, which we all know is very difficult for any length of time. Performing target heart rate training is going to be near to impossible. A lot of competitor models in this price range are telemetry enabled so that a chest strap can be utilized.

Overall, this Gold’s Gym Treadmill is a good buy for its price range. It has a lot of great features that make exercising enjoyable, including its 18 programmed workouts, and iPod/MP3 player compatibility. It’s only drawback is that heart rate monitoring can only be accomplished through its pulse grips and there is no ability to use a chest strap.
