What We Love About the ProForm Power 995i Treadmill:ProForm Power 995 Treadmill

Take a look at the features list above and you’ll easily see why we love the ProForm 995i Treadmill. It is well constructed, has great warranties and is loaded with extras. The best of them all has to be, without a doubt, the programmed workouts and the ability to connect to iFit.

Workout Extras

The ProForm Power 995i comes with 30 programmed workout options. That’s twice as many as top end models from SOLE Fitness and more than other higher end treadmills like the LifeSpan TR3000i. If you know anything about ProForm you know it’s difficult to find a treadmill that provides more workout options. Additionally, ProForm equips a lot of their treadmills with the ability to connect to iFit Live, which even allows you to race other users in real-time. If you want to have fun on a treadmill and an endlessly varied workout, the ProForm 995i Treadmill delivers.

ProForm Power 995 Treadmill heartrateWhat Isn’t So Great About the ProForm 995i Treadmill:

No Chest Strap

For nearly $1,000, we would expect a treadmill to have the ability to use a chest strap heart rate monitor, but the ProForm Power 995i Treadmill does not have this option. It only has dual hand grips to monitor your pulse. This makes it difficult to perform heart rate training as you will need to hold on to the grips at various times in order to make sure you are in your target heart zone. There are competitor treadmills at a lower price that the option to use a chest strap, like the Nautilus T614, and there are also models that will actually include a chest strap for about $10 more, like the ProForm Power 995 TreadmillNautilus T616. Most people don’t really need to use a chest strap or know their constant pulse, but if it’s important to you, you may want to take a look at our reviews of these treadmills if this is something that you are looking for.

Final Word on the ProForm Power 995i Treadmill:

Overall, at under $1000, the ProForm Power 995i Treadmill is a good buy. It’s built to last and has warranties to back its quality. It also has 30 programmed workout options and the ability to connect to iFit where you can really max out your exercise options. Not a huge problem, but a drawback with the Power 995i Treadmill is that you cannot use a chest strap with it. Most people will be fine with the sensor grips for heart rate monitoring. For comparisons, check out our reviews for the LifeSpan TR1200i and the Nautilus T614 treadmills. Rating: 95/100.
