About ProForm:

Besides elliptical machines, they manufacture many other pieces of fitness equipment including rowing machines, treadmills and hybrid trainers. We’re in good hands here.
What We Love About the ProForm ZT4 Treadmill:
The ProForm ZT4 is a nice treadmill with some great design features like the space saving design, cushioned running surface, heart rate monitoring and nice sized 2.75 CHP motor. The feature we like most has to be the amount of programmed workouts that you get with the ZT4 Treadmill.
Workout Extras
The ProForm ZT4 Treadmill comes with 16 programmed workout options. That’s quite a bit for this price range. There’s no ability to connect to iFit like other ProForm treadmills, but you still have a lot of exercise options to keep you challenged. These workouts are designed by personal trainers to make sure you are always getting an intense workout. It takes all of the guess work out of exercising. Just pick one of the 16 programs, jump on and the speed and incline adjust for you. These workouts make exercising on the ProForm ZT4 Treadmill very enjoyable.
What Isn’t So Great on the ProForm ZT4 Treadmill:
Something to note on the ZT4 Treadmill is that the running surface is only 18”x50”. If you’re a smaller person or just buying the treadmill for walking or light jogging, then you should be fine. However, if you are planning on running at a quick pace, then you definitely need to test this one out before buying. Some people may find it difficult to keep their full stride on the 50”. Smaller running surfaces generally cause people to trip on the front cover plate or come off of the back roller. If you want to run fast on your treadmill, you definitely want to be able to get your full stride. Otherwise, you are going to feel too restricted. Test the ProForm ZT4 before making your purchase.
Final Word on the ProForm ZT4 Treadmill:
For its price range, the ProForm ZT4 Treadmill is a good buy. It has a strong 2.75 CHP motor that can get you up to 10 mph. It compares very nicely to the next model in the ProForm product line, the 505 CST. The biggest differences are the warranty and the running surface. The running surface on the ProForm ZT4 Treadmill is definitely something to keep in mind for taller users who really want to run. It has the potential to be a little short for a full stride. If this is a concern for you, look for a treadmill with a longer running surface (see the ProForm 505 CST Treadmill), or test the ZT4 out first before making your purchase. If not, then full-speed ahead!
Rating: Recommended for walking, light-jogging. Not recommend for tall, fast runners.
