About Schwinn:

Schwinn® was founded in 1895 and since then has been icon in the bicycle, recreation product, and home and commercial fitness worlds. The company was founded in Chicago by Ignaz Schwinn and his partner Adolph Arnold. Schwinn® led innovation in the bicycle industry with several firsts including the bicycle balloon tire in 1933; Cyclelock®, a bicycle theft solution in 1935; and in 1938 the fore-wheel brake, cantilever frame and the spring fork, which are the predecessor of today’s off-road bicycles. In 1965, Schwinn® introduced their first in-home workout machines and today they have whole lines of upright bikes, recumbent bikes, steppers, treadmills, elliptical and home gyms.

What We Love About the Schwinn 830 Treadmill:

The Schwinn 830 Treadmill has a lot of the conveniences that people are looking for in a good treadmill. It has tons of programmed workout programs and performance tracking. It has a lot of features that make exercising enjoyable and keep you coming back time and again.

Programs & Tracking Capability

There aren’t many consoles that compare to the Schwinn 830 Treadmill at this price. There may only be one that even comes close and that’s the ProForm 505 CST Treadmill. The 830 Treadmill’s console has a blue backlit screen that displays your workout data and is easily viewable in low light. It also has 22 programs that will hit everything from causal workouts to heart rate profiles to intense interval training. The best feature about the computer on 830 Treadmill is that it has connectivity to transfer your workout data through Schwinn Connect or MyFitnessPal. Features like these are great because they make using the 830 Treadmill enjoyable and keep you coming back for more exercises.

Other Considerations:

Negatives are hard to come by on the Schwinn 830 Treadmill. Among user gripes, the biggest complaint seems to be assembly. Undoubtedly, it is a heavy machine at 200 lbs. Most reviews stated that you will need a helper. Additionally, some users report that the instructions weren’t as clear as they could be and that they had a bit of difficulty while assembling the Schwinn 830. Keep in mind that treadmills are big pieces of equipment and most of them take a few h0urs to assemble, usually with a second person. And remember, you only need to assemble the Schwinn 830 Treadmill once (hopefully)!

Final Word on the Schwinn 830 Treadmill:

The Schwinn 830 Treadmill is a great deal for its price point. The design, components and features are unmatched at this price. But, here’s an inside tip. If you like Nautilus, then go for this Schwinn. The two brands are manufactured by the same company. In fact the Schwinn 830 is basically the exact same treadmill as the Nautilus T614 – and it’s a bit cheaper.   Either way, this is a great treadmill loaded with quality parts, tons of programmed workouts and the ability to track your workout data. The Schwinn 830 Treadmill is definitely one to watch in the hunt for your ideal home treadmill. Recommended.
