About SOLE Fitness:
SOLE Fitness has been providing exercise equipment throughout North America for decades. They have been the fastest growing brand in the US and Canada the last five years. Their target market are hotels nationwide, but have slowly evolved into residential sales. SOLE Fitness equipment is known for quality performance under rigorous use. They provide lines of bikes (both upright and recumbent), treadmills, elliptical machines and rowers.
What We Love About the SOLE F80 Treadmill:
Quality & Durability
SOLE Fitness provides the consumer with a great machine in the F80 Treadmill. First, this treadmill has a powerful 3.5 CHP motor that can maintain a running speed up to 12 mph. Combining this motor with large rollers and an industrial strength flywheel provides a quiet and smooth operation. The welded frame with a 375 lb weight capacity ensures that nearly anyone can exercise on this machine and it’s going to hold up. Finally, it has a large folding deck that provides a 22”x60” running surface and absorbs up to 40% of your impact. SOLE Fitness is known for providing quality exercise equipment, and the F80 Treadmill is no exception.
The SOLE F80 Treadmill vs. the SOLE F85 Treadmill
If you’re looking for the quality that you find in a SOLE treadmill, the F80 is probably a better option than even the more expensive, higher-end SOLE F85 model. The SOLE F80 Treadmill has all of the same great features: the patented folding deck that locks in place when vertical and practically lowers itself when you want to start exercising; speed controls from 0.5-12 mph; and incline up to 15%. There are only some small downgrades between the two models. First, the F80’s weight capacity is 25 lbs less than the F85, but still can handle a user weighing 375 lbs. which should cover most people. Second, its motor is 0.5 CHP less, but again still a very strong 2.5 CHP. Finally, the display is a very slight downgrade, but it has all of the same programs and only 1.5” smaller. Everything else, including the quality construction, is identical. (On a related note, the SOLE F65 is also worth a look if you’re looking to save a few bucks without losing much in terms of features.)
What Isn’t So Great:
The SOLE F80 comes with 10 workout programs including 1 manual, 5 programmed, 2 custom and 2 heart rate. Truthfully, that’s plenty of workout options, but some people might want more. Additionally, another nice feature would be to have some type of connectivity to either a workout app or ability to download workout data so that you could track your performance over time. It’s not a deal breaker, but at this time, SOLE lacks this feature on most of their exercise equipment.
One issue some users found was an issue with the console. Some users noted their SOLE F80 Treadmill arrived with an error message on the computer display upon first use. Whether this is an issue with earlier models and SOLE has rectified the defect is unclear. The good news is that, for people with this initial problem, after a service call, it seems the issue goes away. We would recommend purchasing this product from a reputable dealer, like Amazon.com, so that in the event this issue is discovered, it can easily be fixed.
Final Word on the SOLE F80 Treadmill:
For the price, the SOLE F80 Treadmill is a great buy. Any downgrades from the SOLE F85 to this model are small compared to the nice price drop. Overall, SOLE’s lifetime warranty and reputation for great service seals the deal on this treadmill. With the SOLE F80 Treadmill, you are getting a high quality piece of exercise equipment that is sure to last a long time.
